Remember that terrible storm we were supposed to have this past weekend in Portland? The one to rival the infamous Columbus Day Storm of 1962? Well, we barely do either. (Unless you were at the Oregon Coast and experienced the tornadoes there….)
Well, that’s the storm that was predicted for Whitney and Paul’s wedding day, at the Ainsworth House in Oregon City. Krystle, the wedding coordinator, wisely moved the whole event indoors. Yet when we arrived and started photographing the wedding, we noticed that it was still dry outside, and the winds weren’t terrible. Staying away from large trees and flying pine cones, we decided to take some outdoor portraits of the bride and groom anyhow. And I’m glad we did!
The rest of the wedding day was indoors, which isn’t such a bad thing. While Ainsworth House has some fantastically beautiful gardens, the interior spaces are also quite nice (and historically charming).
Paul and Whitney’s friends know how to have a good time. From the photobooth to the dance floor, these guys turned this wedding into a real celebration. And it wasn’t hard, with DJ Denmark of Bridge City Music at the helm.
