Vera Katz

fritzliedtke-vkatz-1_1

Vera Katz stepped out of the car, and I introduced myself. “Hi Vera, I’m Fritz.” “Fritz,” she said, “good to meet you.  I just want you to know, I have no patience.” And so began my portrait session with former Portland Mayor Vera Katz. It might be her impatience that made her so effective as...

The Fire Breathing Bride at Mt Hood Bed and Breakfast

Elizabeth Kirk used to work in the circus. Willie Smith works in politics. Similar enough professions, I suppose, that it’s no surprise that they got together. Anonymous - WOW! What can we say except…WOW! You must be so proud of your work. We certainly are! Fritz, you are such an artist and we cannot thank you enough for being a part of our day. We are both overjoyed with the amazing photos that you took of us, our families and friends. What a treat. We cannot stop beaming over them! There were so many times we looked at each other and said “did you know he was taking photos then?” A true testament to your ability. The slide show you put together expresses our personalities and the fun that we had exactly; right down to the music you selected. You really nailed it right on the head. For those that were unable to join us, it is a great way to share the full story. We would recommend you to anyone and everyone. These are not just photos, they are works of art and we can’t wait to share them and enjoy them over and over again!

Words just cannot express our gratitude.

Thank you!

Robert Hogan - Absolutely delightful. And a nice antidote to what I was looking at earlier today – the images from the “New American Portraits” show at the Beckman gallery in NYC. Nearly all sterile, disspirited and even hostile. Thanks, Fritz.

The Howley Wedding

IMG_5988

If you know anything about my work, you probably know that I’m a sucker for photos of kids at weddings. This past weekend’s wedding was no exception. Brian Howley and Sybil Weatherman were married at a family estate in Yamhill County. The light that day was awe-inspiring. There were probably about as many children as...

The Howley Family Portraits » Fritz Photography - [...] In 2007, I had the privilege of photographing a wedding out in the country, on an estate that included a lake and an outdoor model railroad, and a lot of children.  It was a beautiful day, and Gretchen and I had a great time photographing Brian and Sybil’s wedding.
